Its now months later since I have completed this task. I've gone from setting up donations and gathering money to just doing homework and starting new projects. I have learned how to deal with money and how to handle mental tension.

The Pizza Ranch fundraiser was a great benefit to my little project. I raised $475 in four hours of bussing tables and waiting on costumers. My parents and friends volunteered helping from 11:00- 3:00. We delivered special pizzas to certain tables, refilled drinks, checked on orders, washed tables, and repeated it all six hundred times. We were sooooo tired by the time the event ended. I had blisters on my heels and a tired but accomplished feeling. I turned in the money to Mrs. Fitzpatrick Monday morning. She was very happy to see what I, friends, and family have accomplished.

Even though the event starts at 11:00 A.M., I am going to arrive around 10:30. The manager will run me and volunteers on what to do. There will be an information table in front of the doors and drumline and/or band members will running around in red shirts eager to help out. After all the accoutrements are in place, I and others will be serving hungry costumers. This will be a cinch! As I have mentioned in previous blogs, 10% of Pizza's Ranch's profits will go to purchasing new drumline equipment. Below is a link on my teacher's website that explains my projects and other's!

Saturday! I have hung these flyers all over the school. During band, Mrs. Fitzpatrick, the director, made an announcement about this event. She then encouraged the students to volunteer during the Fundraiser. I left band feeling very encouraged as everyone was happy to help! You are even more important though. You are as important as pizza at Pizza Ranch! After this project is over, students' projects like mine will be presented at Morton Junior High School. The presentations will be from 5:00- 7:00. The projects range from making scarves to getting your dog to lose weight. Come check it out to see all the amazing ideas and accomplishments students have made! http://mjhs.morton709.org/home/article/green-team-project-discovery I went to Eli's yesterday to hopefully place one of my donation jars at the counter. Having signed the applications, I turned it into the girl working there. She thanked me with a smile and told me the manager usually looks over the application at the end of the month. I said goodbye and drove over to the Family Video store. When I picked up the jar, I realized the jar hadn't picked up any more donations than when I had left it last. I was really shocked no one seemed to see it. On the upside, the jar placement in Eli's is almost guaranteed because my L.A teacher is married to the manager of Eli's. Hopefully I can get the jar in as soon as possible!
When I concluded my last post, I ended with a picture of the manager who let me place the jar in the window. She wasn't sure that my donation jars would be permitted to stay in the window. She said that it might have to be removed due to any complaints. I was super bummed.
They said they would contact me today to ensure that the jar was permanent. I collect the donations Monday. I am excited and a little scared to see how much I've collected. I went to Pizza Ranch yesterday to ask about setting up jars at the counter. I had only set up one jar at Family Video. I was prepared for a short, disappointing visit. Though when I explained my idea, they were happy to help. I thought they were pulling my leg! Long story short, we ended up setting up a fundraiser event at Pizza Ranch. The event will happen March 1st 11:00- 3:00. Ten percent of their profit will go to my organization. The most people have raised is $1,900! Come hungry! This is the manager of Family Video. She let me set my first jar in the window! Thank you!
Because I like history and don't know much about the history of drums, I decided to do some research. This drum is 90,ooo million years old. :) One of the earliest drum goes back to 6000 B.C. I thought it was neat how this drum somewhat looks like a current drum. We might play it differently today than we did hundreds of years ago, but they're still around. The link to the website that I got this information from is on the research page. Check it out! You might be shocked on about how long certain drums have stuck around.
